2000 years ago during an ancient Jewish celebration in the Jerusalem temple, Jesus made a bold statement: "I Am the light of the world." At first glance, this statement seems to be describing some of Jesus' characteristics: light means life, light means hope, light means power, etc... So, one the one hand, this statement might seem innocuous. But because of when he said and where he said, Jesus was actually making an astounding claim about his identity.
