Sermon Audio: Canon R. Hurkmans
"By Our Love" Mark Wakefield
If you've ever found yourself saying: "I wish I could be more loving/patient/kind/forgiving etc..." then you already know that we don't always live up to our own standards. Despite our best efforts, we aren't able to be the loving, forgiving, patient, kind, generous (you name it) people we long to be. What hope do we have? The good news is that when we enter into God's family, we are given all these qualities (and more!). The Bible calls these characteristics "the Fruit of the Spirit". Like seeds, they are planted in our hearts. Our job is to water them, cultivate them, weed them and let that fruit grow in our lvies. But ultimately it comes down to God. After all, if we don't "know God's love" then we can't "grow God's love." You gotta know it to grow it! Join us today as we embark upon a multi-week exploration of the Fruit of the Spirit.
Canon Robert Hurkmans was the priest at St. James and St. Brendan from 2006 to 2018.
