The book fo Esther stands in contrast to nearly every other biblical book. To begin with, there is no mention of God in Esther. Esther contains no mention of prayer, no mention of Jerusalem or the temple, no prophetic visions, and not one reference to a miracle of any kind. This has led some to conclude that God is absent in the book of Esther. But Esther resonates with us because many of us live ina world where God appears absent or hidden. Esther pushes us to consider the questions: "Even when God appears hidden, is he still in control? And if he's real and present, why is he so veiled?" Join us this January as we explore the book of Esther as a congregation.
