The Birth of a New Church
The Parish of St. James & St. Brendan
On June 18, 2006, Bishop Ralph Spence established a new Anglican parish in the community of Port Colborne - the Parish of St. James & St. Brendan. The new church is the result of years of planning and decision making that resulted in the disestablishment of both existing Anglican parishes - St. James Anglican and St. Brendan the Navigator - and the establishment of a new amalgamated parish. |
|
Interestingly, the Parish of St. Brendan the Navigator was established as a "mission church" by St. James Anglican back in the early 1960's. Now, as a result of the amalgamtion, the two congregations are once again a single Anglican community that have come to live and minister together with a common vision and purpose in Port Colborne.
