Sunday by Sunday we here at St. J&B gather to worship God. What are we doing when we worship? How is it changing us? What difference does it make in the world?
October 15th: WORSHIP, and the REASON we do it.
There is something instinctual in all of us that wants to worship something or someone. Yet, every Sunday you and I are drawn to church to do this thing we call “worship.” What draws us? What are we looking for? What do we find?
November 5th: WORSHIP, and the MEAL we share.
The Lord’s Supper. Holy Communion. The Eucharist. Whatever you call it, this meal is central to what we do on Sunday. It has the power to connect your soul to God, and to connect you to the wider community.
October 22nd: WORSHIP, and the SONGS we sing.
Whether it’s hymns led on the organ or contemporary worship songs led by guitars, our church is filled with music! Singing changes us. God’s love compels us to sing. But did you know God also commands us to sing?
November 12th: WORSHIP, and the COMMUNITY we form.
A church that worships in a beautiful, meaningful way makes a powerful and attractive statement to those who yearn for community. As we worship together God is forming us into a new community of love, hope, & joy.
October 29th: WORSHIP, and the WORD we proclaim.
All of us need to hear a “word” from God. We long for God to speak into our lives. On Sundays, how do we listen to the scriptures when they’re read to us? And how are we to receive the message we are taught
November 19th: WORSHIP, and the WORLD we change.
Worship is not just a family gathering - the doors of the church are open: open for all to enter in, and also open to lead us out into mission. Worship inspires us for to make a difference in the world, and sustains us for that work.
